The Elder Scrolls
In the third century of the Fourth Era, it came to light that a small handful of Falmer had escaped both the Nords’ wrath and the Dwemers’ betrayal. These Falmer prefered to use to the term Snow Elf to describe them in order to differentiate themselves from their less-civilized brethren whom they called “The Betrayed.” The few remaining Snow Elves were attacked and slaughtered by their degenerated Falmer kin, leaving a sparse few alive.
Not surprisingly, given the multitude of ancient accounts of Falmer, the Snow Elves are greatly gifted in magic, possibly rivaling the prowess of their Altmer cousins. Their snow-white skin, despite appearing thin, grants them an impressive resillience against cold. The former glory of the Falmer lives on in them, but they don’t dare to hope that the Betrayed might one day return from the depths of their twisted devolution. The present-day Falmer are so drastically different from what they once were, they are essentially an entirely different race. All that said, the Snow Elves do have hope that their savage kin may eventually find peace, given time and communication.
